Reveal Information
Reveal is a relatively new cat food brand that describes itself as true limited ingredient grain-free cat food.
However, beyond some generic marketing information on their website, there is very limited information about their origins or ownership.
For those of you wondering where Reveal cat food is made, their production takes place in Thailand.
While this may put some off, this is actually quite common in the wet cat food space, with other brands like Weruva, Fussie Cat, and Tiki Pets doing the same.
This is due to the fact that much of the fish used in wet cat food is harvested from the oceans in southeast Asia, and having the production close by makes economic sense.
Moreover, the production facilities in Thailand that produce wet cat food are high-quality and highly regulated and audited. You can learn more about Reveal’s production on their FAQ page.
Reveal cat food is surprisingly easy to purchase and is available from many of the large retail stores across the United States, like Target and Kroger.
In addition, you can purchase Reveal online from large online retailers like Chewy and Amazon, as well as some smaller pet food websites.
Reveal Product Range
Reveal has a moderately sized product range of cat food available, which includes many wet cat food recipes and a single cat treat.
The wet cat food recipes are split into two distinct categories, which are ‘in broth’ recipes and ‘in gravy’ recipes.
Both of these types of wet cat food are extremely common in the industry and are what most cats are used to eating.
Moreover, this product range from Reveal includes significant variety in their recipes with several different meat and fish ingredients to suit many picky cats’ tastes.
Reveal Nutrition
Based on our analysis, Reveal cat food provide impressive nutrition that is above and beyond most other wet cat food brands.
You can see an example of the nutrition provided by one of Reveal’s wet cat food recipes below.
As you can see, the proportion of this recipe’s nutrition from protein is substantial at 77%, which is far above most cat food recipes.
The fat proportion is far lower at 16%, which is unusual for a cat food recipe, with most having a higher proportion.
Moreover, while the proportion of carbohydrates listed above is 7%, it is likely far less than this as this is based on the recipe’s minimum protein and fat levels.
Due to the high levels of protein and lower levels of fat, Reveal cat food could be a great choice for cats who struggle with weight gain or those who need higher protein due to activity or age.

Reveal Ingredients
High-Quality Meat & Fish Ingredients
- Chicken
- Duck
- Tuna
- Crab
- Shrimp
- Sardine
- Mackerel
- Salmon
Despite being a relatively small cat food brand, Reveal utilizes a large range of meat and fish ingredients, especially fish which they include several that rarely features in recipes from other brands.
While fish like Salmon and Tuna are very common among cat food brands, others like Sardine and Mackerel are far less common.
Regardless, all of these fish ingredients are high-quality additions and can provide cats with a plentiful supply of high-quality protein and fat.
Other Notable Ingredients
One of Reveal’s recipes includes a small portion of Pumpkin. Adding a small portion of Pumpkin in this manner is common, and many brands offer a recipe like this.
Pumpkin is best known for its digestive properties, which are thanks to its high fiber content. This fiber promotes digestion and can ensure cats have regular and consistent stools.
However, Pumpkin can also provide some nutrition to cats in the form of beneficial vitamins and minerals such as Beta Carotene.
While researching, we found that one of Reveal’s recipes includes a small portion of Locust Bean Gum.
Locust Bean Gum is similar to several other gum-based ingredients, like Guar Gum and Xanthan Gum.
These gums are used as binding agents to hold the ingredients of the food together in a consistent texture and format.
Without their addition, the food may have an inconsistent texture or an undesirable appearance.
Moreover, this same recipe also included a tiny portion of Potato Starch which is likely included for the same purpose.
While Potato Starch can also be used as a source of carbohydrates in a cat food recipe, the portion size present is so small it must be used as a binding agent.
Lastly, Reveal has a cat food recipe that includes a small portion of Seaweed which can also be known as Kelp.
Similar to the above, Kelp can be used as a binding agent as well to help hold the ingredients of the food together.
However, Kelp can also be present for its nutritional value and health benefits. Kelp is a reliable source of minerals like Iodine and Iron, and some also claim it can help alleviate allergies and skin issues.
You can read more about Kelp, including information on which pet food brands utilize it, in our article Kelp In Pet Food.
Reveal Animal Testing
At this time, we have no information on what type of testing or trials that Reveal carries out for its cat food products.
Many smaller pet food brands avoid disclosing detailed information about testing online as they either do not carry out notable trials or fear customer backlash.
We strongly believe that invasive or laboratory testing of animals for pet food is a cruel and outdated practice and one which should be eliminated.
Reveal Recalls
Based on our research (FDA, AVMA, DogFoodAdvisor), we can find no evidence that suggests that Reveal cat food recipes have ever undergone a recall which means that Reveal is a recall-free cat food brand.
This recall-free record is critical for many smaller brands and is something they proudly advertise and showcase.
We hope that Reveal can maintain this recall-free record in the coming years and build on its existing safety and quality processes.
Regardless of their current recall-free record, we always encourage cat owners to be vigilant of any future recalls of Reveal cat food to ensure that their cats remain healthy and safe.

Tuna Fillet With Salmon In Broth Can Review
Reveal’s claim to be a true limited ingredient cat food brand is proven true in the above Tuna Fillet with Salmon recipe.
The recipe only has two notable ingredients, Tuna, and Salmon, exactly as described in its name.
These high-quality fish ingredients provide a plentiful supply of fish-based protein that sums to 15% of the recipe’s constituents, which is a massive sum for a wet cat food recipe.
However, like almost all of their recipes, the portion of fat present is very low at just 0.5%, which is far lower than most cat food brands.

I was first introduced to Reveal cat food in the Fall of 2021..when all of the stores were out of Medley’s cat food on account of the pandemic. I did not really approve of the ingredients in the Medley’s food ..but it was all I could afford. As time went by there was no more Medley’s on the shelves. I saw the Reveal cans ( only a few different kinds) and decided to try them after reading the ingredients..especially being grain free. My cat loved the tuna and gravy, tuna and salmon and occasionally the chicken and gravy. Reveal is the only food she has NEVER vomited up…with all other foods it was always before she was finished eating. She became very ill about a month ago and there was blood in her stool..she is 7 yrs old and has NEVER been outdoors or been sick before. The vet gave her a probiotic and a CBC but never told me what it was.She did mention that I should not give my cat tuna every day..but she loves it and now will not eat anything else but Reveal and occasionally Party Mix dry cat food..Is there any concern for her eating it daily..wow! Price is now $1.50 a can..she eats better than I do. (smile)Thank you for the opportunity to share this with you.
THIS CAT FOOD I BOUGHT YESTERDAY WAS LIMITED INGREDIENTS REVEAL IN BROTH, TUNA FILLET WITH SEAFOOD. I DON’T KNOW WHY YOU ARE SELLING THIS PRODUCT – IT STINKS ! ! ! LITERALLY, MY CATS HATED IT AND ONE OF THEM ARE INDOOR/OUTDOOR CAT AND HE WOULDN’T EVEN EAT IT ! MY OTHER CAT WOULDN’T EITHER. NOW ABOUT THE SMELL.
My cat loves reveal so much. He is a very fussy eater but devours this cat food. It also looks like real food. He loves it and his fur looks great.
You need more wet can food with gravy. To many broths only a few gravy. Also check to make sure the gravy ones are soupy and gravy like. I bought 2 boxes of tuna/chicken and it was suppose to be gravy but they were dry and gelly like. The 22 separate gravy cans were the same. My 7 cats ate it when it was soupy but not gelled and dry. Gravy is not suppose to be dry and gelled or I would go back to gravy fancy feast. They do not like broth ones only gravy. The first box I bought was great. Nice and soupy except chicken. The chicken was gelled. The fish flavors were great but like I said the last 2 boxes and the 22 cans I got at PetSmart were dry and gelled not soupy.
I went to Publix and the dry food from $14.99 dropped to $5.99 what’s going on? My diabetic cats loves this brand. I’m afraid to give it to him now
Olga, Publix clears out their stock. If it wasn’t a big seller in their location or if soon to expire, they reduce the price. It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with it. Also, with any product, if you request it that you will buy it regularly, they will restock for you.
